Dr. Kenneth Cheng co-founded Newport Medical Consultants in 2003 after growing frustrated by the rushed office visits and lack of opportunity to build personal patient relationships he experienced at traditional healthcare facilities.

Board certified in family practice, Dr. Cheng today offers his patients a unique model of healthcare with a proactive and personal approach. Dr. Cheng received his bachelor's of science in biology from California State University, Pomona. He continued his medical studies at Western University of Health Science and completed his internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Cheng is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and an assistant clinical professor at the UCI School of Medicine and Western University of Health Sciences. He also serves as an editorial board member of Patient Care, a national clinical journal for family physicians and internists.
